Faster building condition surveys and documentation with Admicom Vision at Granlund

Previously at Granlund, one of the main challenges was that information and photos collected from sites were scattered across the hard drives and phones of up to four different surveyors. Sharing data across the organisation was therefore slow and complicated.

“We carry out renovation projects in properties, focusing on building services engineering. The initial building condition surveys and site inspections, including all related documentation, are now managed in Admicom Vision. With Vision, we have been able to streamline and standardise our processes, making sure that information is collected and shared consistently across the company,” explains Timo-Mikael Sivula, Project Development Manager for energy efficiency projects at Granlund.

Admicom Vision has also saved Granlund’s experts significant working time. At the early stages of projects, fewer people are now needed to handle the required documentation.

“Many tasks that previously had to be completed at the office after site visits can now be done on the spot. For example, a contractor can be asked to provide a digital signature to a site report immediately, without having to wait until we are back at the office,” Sivula says.

Contractors have also praised Vision for its speed, noting that by the time they have returned to their car after a site meeting, the meeting report is already waiting on their phone for signature.

Rapid growth in user numbers

Granlund has been using Vision for several years. In the beginning, only a handful of users tested the system’s suitability for the company.

“Today, hundreds of our experts have user accounts. Some rely on it daily, while others use it occasionally. One of Vision’s key strengths is the easy customisation of document templates with the built-in editor, which makes it suitable for different experts across the organisation.”

Sivula has also been active in Vision’s customer advisory board, contributing ideas for further development.

“Our goal has been to build an interface between Vision and our cost estimation system, but that still remains a work in progress. From my perspective, though, it is hard to find a product on the market that can beat Vision.”
